We went to Conner Prairie today for the Civil War reenactment. It is such a cool place to spend time and learn about our history. Today was a little different because men and women from all over dressed in Civil War gear and reenacted the camp sites and battles. You could walk up to the campsites and hear their strategies and plans. The Confederate soldier's were accurate and distinct in their appearance as many of them didn't have shoes.
Jay's catchin' up with Abe...
The Princess wanted to ride the horsey! I told her that her Papa Duane would ride on a saddle like that and real horsey when he was younger to corral the cows. She thought that was pretty cool!!
This little "kid" was 2 weeks old...
This chickie was two days old...awee!!

We ate "fair" food and look who LOVED the corn on the cob...
We ended the day with a cone at Alexander's in Noblesville!! YUMMY!!!
The Princess is covering her ears while the North was preparing the canons (even though they didn't go off).

The roosters were just walking around the place with all of us and she loved that. It was very windy and chilly (felt like the prairie of North Dakota), and the air's aroma was filled with campfire smoke.

Your day sounded like something I would like since I like US history and I would love to meet 'old Abe'
Looks like a fun time.
Sophie's learnin about the "war of northern aggression" hehe! When I was younger we used to go to thos reenactments in Mississippi and my dad would chase us saying "I'm gonna kill you yankees!!!" hehe!
That looked like so much fun - I keep promising we'll start doing more cool stuff like this with the boys - maybe you'll just have to be our personal tour guide and tell us all the cool upcoming things to do, you always seem to know what's going on around town! Let's get together again soon, k? Love ya Shan Shan!!!
